The Planning Board on Monday moved another step closer to allowing the West End restaurant to provide table service, upstairs musical entertainment and sell wine, beer and hard alcohol from its adjacent convenience store.
For the second meeting in a row, board members instructed the planning staff to continue working on a decision in favor of the changes, subject to a number of conditions, including restrictions on the hours of operation, seating capacity and square-footage of the alcohol-sales area in the convenience store.
They also requested that the staff meet with owner Ande Grennan to discuss appropriate screening to act as a noise buffer, and possibly include a condition making the approval conditional on his continued ownership of the property. Under such a condition, a new owner would have to seek re-approval from the board.
